Jill Armijo, RTI Instructor
Growing
up in Bozeman, Montana I was fortunate to have a wonderful education.
Most of the teachers I remember as outstanding and challenging were my
mathematics teachers. Maybe that is why I am back in the mountains
teaching math. My journey started with a business degree from Gonzaga
University in Spokane, Washington. After working for two years in
Seattle I decided that marketing was not meaningful enough for me, so I
went back to school in California and earned a teaching certificate.
My first teaching job was in an inner city school in Sacramento, CA. I
had 34 students in my class and there were 21 languages represented
school wide. I believe that experience changed my life and is the
reason I am still in education today. After twelve years of teaching I
have decided to specialize in mathematics and am working on my Master
in Middle Level Math from the University of Wyoming.
