MEET THE COUNSELORS:
Mari Auman, Counselor One of my life long dreams growing up in the Midwest was to live in the west as close to the mountains as possible. As soon as I graduated from high school I headed to the University of Northern Colorado and never looked back. I have a Masters degree from the University of Northern Colorado as a Reading Specialist and a Masters degree from Colorado State University in School Counseling. I have taught 5th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts for the past twenty years. This is my fifth year as middle school counselor. The mystic of the young adolescent has always captivated me; therefore, the middle school is the place for me. It has been an incredible career change for me. No two days are alike. I really love the kaleidoscope of issues that come with school counseling and working with students, teachers, and parents.
Elise Stiegler, Counselor
'If you enjoy what you do, you will never work another day in your life' Confucius
This is my first year here at Jackson Hole Middle School and I am excited to be working with middle school students who are always full of energy! I am originally from Jackson and was fortunate enough to spend my childhood and adolescents in both Wyoming and Eugene, Oregon. I received a B.S. in psychology from Northern Arizona University and M.Ed. in School Counseling from Montana State University. Skiing is part of my families DNA and a passion of mine as well. You can also find me floating down rivers, mountain biking, playing music and delving into a good book.
Shelly Paciulli, Registrar I was born and raised on Bainbridge Island, just a 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. After graduating from the University of Washington I had the pleasure of working in environments that directly served the diverse needs of the Seattle community as an Administrative Director of an assisted living facility and later a Business Manager for a branch of the YMCA. I've enjoyed living here and all that this amazing community has to offer. I look forward to another exciting school year.
Please feel free to visit our office and meet with our counselors or click on Mari Auman or Elise Stiegler to send an e-mail.

BULLY PROOFING at JHMS
Did you know 165,000 students in the United States stay home everyday because they are afraid of being bullied? (2003 NCA)
Since August of 2002 JHMS is the only school in the state of Wyoming that has adopted an anti-bully program. All staff received an interview and continue to be updated on current literature on the effects of bullying by the school counselors. At the beginning of each school year the JHMS school counselors teach all incoming 6th graders strategies to use in a bullying situation and the basic concepts understanding victim, bully, and bystander. Teachers at JHMS take an active role in making our school safe by actively supervising the hallways between classes. Our goal at JHMS is to provide a safe learning environment for all students.
