Two Educators from Jackson Hole Middle School Receive the Bear Hug Award
Mari Auman and Cathy Petersen receive the Bear Hug AwardOn behalf of New Initiatives in Public Education, two special educators from the Jackson Hole Middle School, received the Bear Hug Award for their dedication and outstanding work. New Initiatives in Public Education is a foundation created to recognize and thank teachers. A nominating committee of parents representing schools throughout the district selected these teachers to receive this honor.
Mari & Cathy

The first Bear Hug goes to Mari Auman. Mari has made such a difference to the students whose lives she has touched. She is an advocate for students, a safety net for those who find themselves a little lost, and she is more than a counselor to these students, Mari is a true friend and ally. Her personal involvement and caring has provided crucial support and enrichment for those students in need. Congratulations to Mari, she is truly a dedicated educator and an inspiration to so many.

The next Bear Hug goes to Cathy Petersen. Cathy's students are fortunate to have her as their teacher. Cathy's passion for teaching is reflected in her ability to make each student feel special and deserving of individual attention. Her classroom environment demonstrates to students that learning should be a wonder-filled voyage. Cathy makes learning math fun and exciting, and inspires students to challenge themselves. Thank you Cathy for inspiring so many young mathematicians, and Congratulations!
